Looks like those wheels have rims and he just shrink fits the tyre.....so no glue. The wheels on my saw have no rims...

Well, I did see them gluing rubber tyres on "How it's made, Bandsaws" but you need three wheels! They put one wheel on top of another and applied glue to the rim of the bottom wheel. They then fitted the tyre on the upper wheel and applied glue to it. After letting it set briefly they then "rolled" the tyre off the top wheel onto the bottom one. Repeat with the other wheel. Ok in the factory as they had loads of wheels! Looks like they may have used contact adhesive but they were probably rubber tyres.

If it's the same urethane tyres I had from America they aren't glued just follow the instructions of warming them up and fitting with the "tool", provided, an amazing device!
I had about 4 "goes" then i got the knack, Simples!

Are they any better than Rubber tyres Rodders?

Can't say they are better, saw still cuts the same, but after the original tyre just broke and the saw blade came off I didn't want it happening again, so I sent for the urethane ones.
I never noticed any tyre deteriorating with just the usual tyre scraping and checking.
As the urethane tyres are rot proof and with a no quibble replacement gaurentee I fitted them and after a bit of fiddling about got the knack, aided by the "unique" tool provided.

Thanks Rodders. Yes they are the ones from the USA. Does your saw have a crowned wheel? The original tyres on my saw were crowned, glued on to the flat wheels.

I'll bite Rodders, what is this "Unique" tool?! :? :D

On the ad for the tyres, it goes on to say how easy it is to fit with the "special tool"
when it all arrives you find this 3" piece of broom handle, complete with a 5" nail, going through a piece of tube and hammered into the broom handle piece, and the tube can rotate.
When you have the tyre on, helped by the tool between the new tyre and the wheel,
You go round several times with the tubing rotating on the nail, evening out the stretch.
An ingenious throw away tool but I just love the simplicity of it, and it works so well!
I have kept mine and every time i come across it I just have to smile.
I've been hoping someone would buy the tyres and post their reactions, but as you had asked......
Please, somebody buy one!
Regards Rodders

Right, I'll have to remember that if I buy any Urethane tyres...

Wood, nail, tube. I wonder if they do deluxe models with stainless steel tubes and Rosewood handles? ...
