Gentlemen thank you for all your advise
I glued 21max260mmx860mm pieces successfully
using two methods
1st....sanded both edges with 120 grit sandpaper use meths to clean both surfaces the using biscuits and Tilbond II glue it worked very well
2nd method I did not use the meths as using the sandpaper then blowing clean the surfaces where clear of oil This method worked as well
As I glued both items along the 860mm x 21mm edge this gave a very good glue area
