Emilio Benericetti, is a fantastic cook who offered a giant omelette for 12 persons. He cut this ostrich egg with the Dremel tool. After cleaning it he tuned two rings which fit one in another as the liaison between the box and the lid.
The wood is walnut, the finish a mix of beeswax and carnauba

Lovely eggsample, I prefer it to the over decorated (for me) Fabergé types

Neatly done, one very messy Dremel to start with I should think, unles it was blown in the first place.

(Blown, hole in both ends Claud)

There are no holes at the end so that the interior of the box remains very neat. He drew the equator with the dremel. As the shell is rather thick, the progression was smooth. When the thickness was thin enough, he opened the egg just like a chicken one.
