Morning all. I have a lovely Excalibur EX-30 scrollsaw - the Axminster one. I've used it just as another general tool, if that makes sense, but I feel I would probably enjoy some proper scrollsawing.

I don't generally like videos for tuition; could anyone suggest a good book or text-and-photos website? Basic techniques, starter projects, that sort of thing. Ta!

Yes I can recommend an excellent book. It is called The Scroll saw Handbook by Patrick Spielman. I have been doing scrolling for well over 50 years but I learnt more from this book than any other. In my opinion it is the Scroll saw bible.

I bought my copy when it came out in 1986 but all the info within is still pertinent today. You can buy a copy easily on Ebay, there is also a newer version called the new scroll saw handbook (2003) Both are available on Amazon.
The books are not only instructional they also carry interesting history about fretworking.
