Garden building roof joists

Hi, having now built the floor I'm going to start on the first stud wall. To clarify, the timber I have had delivered (44x70) is enough for the first wall - not the whole build.

This first wall is one of the side walls; WALL A

As I've shown in this sketch, I'm going to double up the studs to give strength (I have enough timber) and also double all headers.

I'll then buy 95x44's for the other 3 walls.

My questions:

A: Is this plan viable? My feeling is that it's fine because wall 'A' is not directly supporting the roof joists?

B: Should I build wall C (the other side wall in the same manner (with 44x70's) to give "balance" to the scheme?

C: On a different subject, should I install some extra insulation against the internal side of the studs to combat thermal bridging?

Thanks again for all advice, this is my first ever building build and I want to get it right.

Cheers

Jim

I wouldn't over think it. The roof is mainly being supported by walls b and d.

You don't really need insulation top of the timbers as it's a workshop rather than a passive haus!

Side walls built (used the c18 3×2 I had). So I've just had the 4x2 c24 delivered for the back wall and there's a storm due tomorrow. I'm going to cover the ends to keep moisture out (overkill?).

Walls built, I'm after a little advice on the birds beak notches in the roof joists if possible?

Because of the shallow angle of the flat roof the notch will be minimal, as shown in my attached sketch; 7mm at its deepest. That's not a lot out of a 145mm wide joist. I was wondering about a 3 sided notch - any good?

Cheers

Jim
