Surely people aren't so stupid as to fall for it?

Oh dear. These things are so corney now. Surely people don't really fall for it anymore do they ?

Unfortunately yes, I know of at least one person who spent over six months drip feeding funds to Nigeria to 'smooth the way' for the funds to be released. The person in question even took out loans and borrowed from friends and family to keep the 'dream' alive of the bank card giving access to countless millions. Several thousand pounds later, she still refuses to acknowledge a scam.

They walk amongst us, and you would never guess who.

Phil

We had a lawyer here in NZ who poured hundreds of thousands of clients money he was holding in trust into one of these scams (he claims  ). Fortunately there is a Legal Fidelity Fund all lawyers have to contribute to annually in order to compensate victims. (I love that. Isn't it an 'Infidelity' Fund?). The worrying thing is the frequency it has to be dipped into.

Mark, 25% seems more than fair to me. I really don't see the problem. If Miss Nora had been kind enough to make the offer to me I'd have jumped at it.

You get off Doorframe (hammer)

That's my money you are talking about, I got my e-mail from the same person and of course I replied straight away, but my likkle pinkie slipped and hit the trash button instead

All that lovely money

i have to admit that I haven't had one like that for ages now. A bit like the person who phones and very kindly tells you about the problem you have with your M/saft PC that you don't know about init. I do everything they tell me to do and when they can't access my Mac (don't use a PC, M/saft, now) they are most surprised and confused. Of course, I do absolutly nowt of what they say, daft twits if they think I will   It is a great help to them though because it helps them to practice their English init already

Programme on the telly last night which featured some 'Scam Baiters', brilliant, they had these scammers doing all sorts of stupid things, dressing up as idiots and dancing (they will do anything to get money out of you) they got one guy to fly from Nigeria (where else) then travel from London to some remote little church in Devon only to get busted by the scam baiters. Apparently all sorts of educated people have succumbed to this scam, lawyers, judges etc. obviously greed kicks in and blurs reality.
