Hi,

I have an old Freud FT2000 (Aka, Casals FT2000, AKA Draper Expert 57853 240V Router 1/2"). It no longer turns on.

There is a broken part - a metal coil that holds the brush in place, like in this photo here:

On the parts diagram, it is shown as part 73, a 'brush spring':

Anyway - I can't find any spare parts online whatsoever - just regular brushes - not this coil/spring.

Does anybody have any ideas on how I can source one? or, if there is a clever workaround to bypass this part?

It seems such a waste to throw this router away because of a tiny simple part!!

Thank you!
Sammy

Ah, I made a mistake - it's not the coil that is broken - it is the brass looking spindle upon which the coil is attached - it has snapped off.

I assume this is even harder to find...

Ah well. Managed to bodge it for now. Need a new router. This one is 17 years old.
