Hi,

I am trying to redesign the exterior of a house so that I can show it to the planning officer, but I am struggling to find software that will simulate a Greenstone texture. I usually use Macromedia fireworks for drawing stuff, but this does not work well with pattern fills made from images, as it stretches the image used as the pattern to fill the shape you want the pattern on.

If anyone knows an easy to use off the shelf product that will enable me to draw the house with, please do share.

Thanks

Sketchup seems the obvious answer. Easy to use with a multitude of architectural plugins and good materials and texture handling. I don't know what Greenstone looks like (is it a green slate?) but you can find umpteen tileable textures both free and paid for, on the web.
