When I use a forstner bit on the lathe I run it slowly, feed it gently and back out frequently to keep it clear and cool.

Looking for a 65mm bit and came across this on Amazon. Think how much more productive I could be at 18,000 rpm and 8M/min feed speed. 1.125 seconds to drill a 15cm deep hole. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Specifications: Drilling dia.: 65mm; shank size: 10mm; drilling depth: 50mm; total length: 83mm. Hex shank, cemented carbide cutter and solid hardened steel body. Rotation speed (suggested): 18000-24000 RPM, feed speed (suggested): 8-12M/Min

Jeepers! Honestly, that's going to cause someone a problem when they stick it in a router at max. Edit: Quick calc. the rim of the 80mm is moving at 100m/s
