I can't claim this idea is mine, as I came across it on a Gardening site.

Find a nice big jar; something you can get your hand into. (Sweet jar?)
Fill the 'Boredom Jar' with folded reminders of ten-minute jobs that need doing. Suggestions are the little irksome tasks you keep putting off.

Such things as:

Sharpen spare plane irons.
Clean out the drawer under the bench.
Tidy shelves over the lathe.
Emulsion the ceiling.
Sort through offcuts bin. Etc.. The list is endless really, and I think you get the idea.

When you think you are bored, (Which means you probably have a few minutes to spare) take a dip in the jar. Whatever comes out, is the job you go out and do.

I can't say it will work for me, but I'll give it a try.

Hope this helps someone.

John

I don think I could buy a big enough jar :D

(due to the number of jobs not the size of my hands!)

Left a note on my bench to find a big jar to put all my 10 minute jobs into, it was replaced by a note from my wife saying "You don't need a jar, just ask me" :?

Actually, it is a good idea. I have lost count of the lists I have made and then lost the list. Life is full of senior moments these days. :-k
