After much angst, ill humour and bad language the triplanes are finally completed. Thank goodness.
Without a doubt the DR.1 was the most iconic aeroplane of WW.1 due I suppose to its association with the Red Baron although he only scored 16 of his numerous kills in it. The triplane was slow for its time and very unstable although I understand a degree of instability in a fighter is desirable as it equates to maneuverability -perhaps AES might come in here with his expertise. As well the DR.1 had the annoying habit of shedding its top wing in flight although from what I read this was more to do with shoddy construction practices than a design flaw.
Next project is a few decades into the future with the English Electric Lightning F.2. And looking forward to that one.

Nice looking forward to the lightening too - perhaps my favourite fighter plane if such a thing is allowed esp in the present climate..... 🇺🇦
 
They look really well, I appreciate you said these were not so much fun as others - but well worth it! I don't know much about planes but this is my favourite along with the Sopwith Camel
