Has anyone serviced a Fobco pillar drill? I'm trying to remove the top cover to access the switch wiring and feel as though I'm missing something. I was guessing that a good clout from the rear would do the trick. I don't want to clout it any harder right now.

On my Fobco Star (which is similar to the Universal I think) the top cover only covers the pulleys and drive belt. This is held on by two knurled captive 'nuts' that can be unscrewed by hand and the top cover lifted off. My machine has an external nvr switch with no internal wiring. Originally it would have had a rotary on of switch on the left side of the body but this must have been removed years ago and covered with a blanking plate. If you want I'll have a look later and investigate.

It's actually the bottom half I'm wanting to remove, the top cover's connecting blots are screwed into theis part. SO I'd remove the top cover, the pully's, and then somehow the bottom half.

Cheers
