Not easy is it?

Easy enough to turn, but sanding is tricky...

DaveL - Noel -

Nice result, Roohster. Yep, sanding can be fun, especially when it's well spalted like your piece. FWIW I try to reduce sanding to a minimum by using a freshly sharpened gouge for very light final cuts, and avoid the use of scrapers at all costs. Seems to work okay for me.

Cheers,

Trev.

Really nice, Roohster.
I really like the looks of spalted wood. So many variables from one piece to the next.

Good job!
