I bought some Olive Ash veneer a few months ago because I liked the look of it and have just used it on a lid for a keepsake box. It looks really good but the texture is quite soft.
The rest of the box is Ash also and I am going to finish it with hard wax as opposed to oil to avoid yellowing. I am wondering though if I should give the veneer a coat of sanding sealer first to harden it up a bit?
