Hello

I am coming to the end of my cabinet project and need to finish the top. Can the forum suggest a good finish for a combination of solid and veneered (mdf) beech. I want to keep the wood light in colour but give it a tough durable finish. The top will be subject to the odd spllage.

Also I need to fill a couple of small gaps between the veneer and solid wood. What is the best product to use?

Cheers

I have used Patina on a table top, oak though not beech, but it is bullet proof when it comes to water spills, heat, crayons, pens, pencils, finger paints etc.

Not to everyones liking here, a search should bring up a few comments.

what will a patina finish look like? Glossy? Natural?

Like this

It is glossy but I guess it could always be cut back.

Unless it has gone off I could lend you some to try - you're close to Dartford I think. I work (well sit at a desk in Sidcup)

Actually that looks nicer than i'd expected. I'm actually in Welling so quite close. Where abouts in Sidcup do you 'sit' ?
