The Design Council has made a decision on the shelf over the sink and it has been decreed that these will have a "natural woody look" 😂 I have a nice piece of oak that I've been informed by the Council is adequate. Having never made anything that will live in such warm and humid environment I'm concerned over the finish. Will Danish oil offer enough protection? Osmo gets a lot of plugging here would that be better? Does anyone else have any suggestions? Do I need to go back the the Council with a revised estimate for the works?

Yeah, I was just thinking about which one you’d need. They also do a raw version which doesn’t darken or make the wood look so yellow. I just use satin though.
