Hi, can anyone suggest A finish for A small oak table top that will spend the year outdoors? I wouldn't mind having to re -coat it yearly as it is quite A small table. Thanks Phil.

, as above, yacht varnish will hold up better than an external oil finish in the long term. If you want a really good one you could do worse than try: Le Tonkinois Varnish, search it if you want to find it, mail order only i think.

If you really are prepared to re-finish every year then you can use whatever you like! For re-finishing every two years you need specialist yacht varnishes with UV inhibitors, or an easier wipe on finish like Deks Olje.

I use Osmo uv protection oil on my outdoor oak stuff - still looking good after 18 months.
