As per the title, anyone know the best place to buy a Festool TS55? Looking for the saw, plus at least one track and probably some clamps.

Are these often on deals? What price should I pay and where from?

Thanks in advance

+1 for the above I've bought a few bits from them including a kapex set last xmas

Get 2 rails you will need them

I have been looking recently for the same deals. Depending on exactly what you want FFX can be a little cheaper but it seems to be between them and the above. I went into Axminster the other day and they had an offer on the TS55 but even so they were way off these prices.

Agreed, If I was buying again I would go for a 2.7m & a 1.4m, I started with 2, 1.4m tracks & the joiners but a dedicated long rail is much more preferable.

Ffx consistently seem to be the cheapest online, although if you've got a local dealer it's worth asking if they can match the price, mine will match any price I can find online

I normally buy stuff from Axminster, but I'm guessing they won't price match.
Morning Stu

They do price match, but I'm not sure if they'll do it across their whole range. I got a price match on the Trrend Airshield earlier this year.

That said, unless I'm in a desperate hurry, I will buy from the suppliers who offer a good price in the first place.

Cheers
Stu

I'd buy from Axminster because I've been pleased with the service I've had and if the difference in price was £10 I'd just go with it. However the price difference is significant. Would I be better to wait until the new year? Are the likely to have a sale?

A massive +1 for FFX... they will price match if you call them and i have to say that their customer service is second to none during my recent nightmare order with them... took 2 weeks for my Domino to turn up but that was down to the courier company losing one and then delivering the 2nd one they got in from Germany for me days late due to another "admin error"

Very frustrating but i did end up getting £100 off the Domino set plus they let me have a CXS full set for £116 :D :D

My TS55 package came with 2 lengths of 1.4m track, 2 connectors and the track bag for £410. I would say that the shorter 800 track is incredibly useful and easy to manoeuvre

You'll want a midi for sure as well! Great package together I bought from nuts and bolts. Waited a year to get the 2.7m rail wish I got it straight away... And please don't believe people that says you can't rip an 8x4 down with the 2.7, they're talking nonsense!

Well I think it will be linking to my dust extraction system. I can't imagine why you couldn't rib a 2.4m board with a 2.7m rail. Surely that's what the rail is designed for? The 800mm rail makes sense as well. Thanks for the intel. Ill do some digging.

Thanks for the advice. I've just bought my Christmas present from FFX.

i went for 2 x 1400 rails, the joiners and the TS55

I also bought a hose and one of the cam locking clamps that are good on the MFT tables.

I'll get some parf dogs and a MFT style top from Stu2, but I need to work out my bench size first.

Highly recommend stu2's table tops.

I'll jump in at this point befote Stu2 does and say the paraelle guides set a serious useful addition to the festool track setup.
