can anybody tell me how to stop the blade from coming loose on my fein multimaster. I have tightened the blade as much as i can and still it comes loose (hammer) :?

Have you got the right blades? On mine you just lift the lever up, pull the screw out, pop a new blade on (lined up so it fits tight to the head on the screw). Push the screw back in the tool and pull the lever down..

Unless the blade is getting blunt tightening it up should work. Think the newer ones have locating prongs to stop it happening.

You can get a collar/adpter with a rough surface that sits between the blade and the tool which helps a bit, though my ultimate fix was to dump the Fein and buy a Makita...

Cheers, Pete

You have got one of the original ones, I think. They are a right PITA especially if you are effectively cutting a slot into something because as the blade hammers against the sides it will loosen. You can buy one of these http://www.axminster.co.uk/fein-multima ... ar-adaptor which goes someway to securing it.

There is only one way to definitively solve the problem and is what I did. I sold my original Fein and bought the newer model. Sanity restored.
