Our house is in a very rural environment and for a lot of the year the view is very attractive. One of the times it isn't is when the field right next to the house and workshop is ploughed up and planted because we end up looking over a very large expanse of mud for about three months.
So you can imagine my disappointment when the farmer started ploughing yesterday - we were hoping he was going to leave it fallow this year.
However, he has obviously decided to opt for some of the environmental subsidies (and I don't blame him) and we now have a 6 yard border bewteen us and the ploughed area (when it used to be 6 inches).
I'm no twitcher but I'm really pleased at the thought of this growing wild and the impact on wildlife and my view.
Cheers
