Hi, I am looking for some lights for a spray booth which is about 12ft square, with an extraction system on the back wall. Can anyone advise on the type of lighting or had any experience with such lights? Many thanks, Dan

Usually flourescent fittings, often built into the booth, but have seen them fitted after.
They look like the the heavy duty outdoor type.

You could try a google for 'Ex rated lighting' for suppliers.

.

If you are processing, flammable, expolosive gases or other volatile similar substances, where you do your work, You need electrical equipment that is approved to the ATEX (It's an acronym for something in French) regulations and comes under a European safty directive..

Details to start with here:

Not cheap stuff, but if your premises qualify as hazardous, you have no option.

Or you can just put the lamps out side the danger area. ie. on the other side of a piece of glass on the clean air side. make sure they are in open air where fumes can't collect.
