Nice one dennis-you won't regret it.
The cabinet saws are really good-the last table saw you will buy!!!
Cheers
Philly :D
(the website is down because they are having trouble keeping tabs on what stock they have got for the on-line ordering section. You can still "cheat" you way into the Xcaliber section by clicking on special offers and going in that way!)

Sorry-they have changed the web-site!!! I looked last week and managed to get in.... :(
You're just gonna have to go down to "temptation valley"
Cheers

Thanks guys, now I'm over the cold (flu?) bug thats going round I don't feel like a 95 year old any more.

Jobs today: 1) strip paint off 2 chairs
2) polish zimmer frame
3) stock up on dried frog pills

Hi guys

I am looking for a saw table and am absolutely fed up of what I've seen on offer thus far.
Do we have any links to the Excalibur?

Apologies if this is a repeat

The link below will take you to the xcalibur retailer's page, but it looks like it's down for reconstruction at present... stick with it though, they've some tasty looking kit there...

Well, I went and did it!

I jumped into the car this morning and drove up to Stockport to look at an Excalibur 802-01-01 table saw. No problems finding the showroom, but found parking was limited - something that will be improved very shortly with a new car park next to the building.

I was met at the door by Tim, a very nice chap who seems to specialise in smaller saws, and shown some of the machinary they sell. They do a lot of commercial heavy woodworking machines as well as the sort of thing I was looking for.

I had a close look at 2 Excalibur saws, the one Philly now has and the smaller 802-01-01 and was very impressed with the build quality of both of them, not to mention the standard of their coffee :D
I decided to buy the 802-01-01 because if would fit in my small shop without taking a slot out of the side wall to accomodate the rip fence

Payment came next, and it turns out that Woodford deal only in cash or cheques, and even though they would have let me take the saw away today if I'd given them a cheque without waiting for it to clear, I didn't have my cheque book with me. I took a walk into Stockport town centre to visit the bank while Tim found a way to get the saw into my car. Payment made, I headed home with the tail of the car a good deal lower than usual

While I was there, I had a chat with their web designer and he said the web site would definatly be back up working on Monday :p

I also talked to Tim about UKworkshop, and he said any members would be 'looked after'

I had an excellant visit to Stockport, and I'll do review of the machine when I get it built up and 'played with'

Hi all after reading the comments here I'm really considering an Excalibur 8040101, but I live in Somerset any idea if they deliver?

Lee

I can't wait for their website to be back again so I can see what all the fuss is about. Presumably they will have model numbers mapped to specifications and images?

Hi Seaco

From what I understand, they deliver most of the machines, it is rarer for a buyer to take the machine away on the day.
