Brilliant stuff, but if you buy it check the dates. I've just bought a litre, the use by date is specified as being six months from the date of manufacture. Mine was manufactured 10/23. Through Amazon, I'll get it replaced or refunded.

I find it super quick to setup though with less open time than the other PVAs I use. I’m hot summer days it’s almost unusable.

This was all widely reported several years ago and I have no idea if anything was ever done about it, but:
Amazon were notorious for not having proper control of their stock. Marketplace sellers supply goods to the amazon warehouses where amazon just dumped all identical product sold on behalf of and supplied to them by different sellers, into one uncontrolled batch. You the consumer buy a litre of D4 from marketplace seller A and you might be sent a litre of D4 that marketplace seller B had bought short dated on the cheap and consigned to Amazon where it got mixed in with the D4 sent to warehouse by everyone else.
Nightmare for the consumer as you can't learn which sellers have good product.
Nightmare for the dilligent sellers because they get blamed for substandard product sourced by other sellers.
Of course looser stock control is easier and cheaper to manage for Amazon. Amazon marketplace sellers affected are the little guys who are ten a penny to amazon and can just be ignored :-(
So if this came from someone's shop on Amazon, don't assume the worst about your vendor, they may need it as proof in case Amazon is still up to their old tricks.

This was sold through Amazon not by Amazon. I can't quite understand why they didn't just ask for a photo of the date - the only conceivable reason for wanting it back is to sell it again. I've had the stuff last for eight or nine months before, but it was very fresh when I bought it.

It should have been delivered by now apparently. They've refunded the cost. :)

The only conceivable reason for that is so they can sell it again.

The only conceivable reason for not returning it is so you can get two for the price of one.

You have twice questioned the integrity of a seller, but I am sure you would be less happy to have that same logic applied to you.

You HAVE just applied it to me. I have had stuff replaced and the return picked up on the same delivery before. I had/have no objection to returning it, it'll be of little use. I just wondered why, if the seller had no intention of reselling it he wanted it back. Why pay the P&P?

I don't rate Everbuild stuff. I had some mitred (MDF) posts (Everbuild PVA) leaning against the workshop wall, I knocked them over and they fell apart.
I made some gates for my garden with Everbuild's 'waterproof' foaming urethane glue. After a year or so I decided to do away with them but thought I'd save the timber if I could get them apart - they practically fell apart. Their two pack filler is like trying to sand concrete in comparison to Ronseal's filler.
I know all the above could be down to me, but I've never experienced any of those problems previously or since, so I'm going to blame Everbuild

Phil, you say the use by date is 6months from date of manufacture, does it say that on the bottle? Never used it so just curious. It certainly isn’t very long is it.
I always use Evostick, never noticed a date on it, and it certainly works just fine years after purchase.

I've used Everbuild stuff for years and not had a problem. I've not glued MDF, though, but I'd wonder anything would do it very well.

I use the everbuild 502 for all sort of jobs both inside and out.
I don’t rely on just the glue, I made some small stools 12 high using round mortise and split tenon joint that had a wedge in the top.
After making one stool I wanted to adjust the rake of the leg...
After an hour of trying to separate the joint I gave up

I don't think Evostick do a D4. D4 is a different formulation to the usual D3s. 502 - D3 - lasts for ages.
I got a notification after their wanting it back that I would be credited for it anyway.

You’re probably correct, never looked what D it is, just good glue for furniture which is just about all I do.

I have a George Hill timber about 5 minutes away, I only get my D4 from there so I can check the dates. 6 months is a bit mad imo. I told the guys in the shop and they thought I was taking the mick.
If Im buying online, I usually get titebond. 2 years gives you quite a bit of leeway. Worth the added expense imo.
Either that or I just 'borrow' it from work.
