Please can you let me know what the end Grain fixings for bolts to attach to are called to use on a metal bench end with wooden slats?

"A metal bench end with wooden slats".......we may need some help on that. I think most of us have solid wooden benches, so I don't recognise your description. You may need to post another couple of times before our spam filter software allows you to post photos, but I think a photo might be necessary in this case.

Are you referring to threaded inserts?

I'm guessing you meant to write "for nuts to attach to" and that the answer is dowel screws.

I presume that you mean metal garden bench ends, so something like https://www.screwfix.com/c/screws-nails ... cat7280108 is fitted to the slats.
