I have just inherited an Elu TGS173 Flip Saw which was in perfectly good working order until I tried to align the blade.
After a lot of tinkering with all the various knobs and handles - prior to consulting the manual - I have somehow managed to loosen the bevel clamp and cannot figure out how to tighten it again. doh:

The blade wasn't fully perpendicular so I loosened the bevel clamp handle and moved the sawhead over to the extreme right
(0 degrees) and tightened the handle but it didn't seem to hold the sawhead in position - it could still move right along to the 45.
I tried again and forced the handle and I may have done some damage. First of all the plastic handle has slipped on its thread and comes off completely. Also the bevel clamp is now very loose allowing the sawhead lots of unwanted movement in all directions.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Damien

The handle on my Elu flip saw is sprung loaded so you can pull it out to turn back a bit and get more tightening. They do get clogged in that area and you may find it won't go back to zero until it has a good clean out. If it is mucky it will be elsewhere so take the whole saw head off by removing your troublesome bolt and give it a good clean. It will then be much better to use. Hope this helps.

Forgot to say, it also has a stop on mine so check if yours has one and make sure that's not stopping reaching zero. If it is adjust to suit.

Thanks guys! I doubt I can do much more damage than I've done already so I'll try removing the sawhead and cleaning it all up.
Will keep you posted on my success.
