Hi,
Just discovered one of these in the workshop. 'Discovered' means I have never used it and I also had no idea what it was until I looked into it. Please see attachments. I have removed the guide arms at each end for cleaning. It looks pretty clean and has a chuck? with a blade installed. The mechanism rotates freely. I wanted to see if it worked so I plugged it in and pressed the green button in the black block in the photo.
There was a buzzing noise, the belt rotated slowly, then not wanting to cause any damage, I pressed the red button and it clicked off. I presume there may be something wrong with the starter button block or the actual motor itself. Do these things have brushes that wear out?
I want to advertise it for sale soon, so any help would be appreciated on how to fix the non-starting problem.
Thanks in advance.
