For the man that has got everything how about an electric vice as a new toy?

After all who would have thought anyone would buy an electric screwdriver 50 years ago.

Sounds like a Shocking Idea to me.

The only Electric Vice I have come across was an inspector who delighted in stopping the engine of our Ford Anglia flight vehicle by bridging the spark plugs with his fingers.

Mind you the Bomb Doors on a Valiant Vee Bomber were quite effective when they snapped shut in a matter of a second or so driven by electric motors, Strong enough to partially remove some guys leg before the micro switches made contact.

In all seriousness though, it is virtually impossible to get any pressure sensitive feedback to control the pressure applied from straight electro-mechanical linking, in my experience with aircraft engineering all successful electrical systems involving a 'clamping function' have had an hydraulic final interface for just this reason.
