People on this forum have a wealth of knowledge about non-woody thing so I thought I would ask here.

I have a Bosch AXT2000HP garden shredder that is about 20 years old. Working fine until yesterday until the motor stopped. I think due to weight and very quiet that it is an induction motor, not brush.

Checked fuse which was blown and replaced.

Now motor just hums and vibrates a little when switched on.

Any obvious places to look first (eg capacitor) . It's 20+ years old so I've had good value from it. Excellent machine and would be a shame to junk it for an easy fix!

Could there be something jammed in the knives. My little chipper doesn't start if there are branches touching the knives.

I'm with the blocked blade idea. It hums, maybe capacitor. But it vibrates, NOT a capacitor.

With the cable UNPLUGGED  NOT just switched off, get in there and make sure it all turns freely.
