Went on the web yesterday and got quotes for flights to Berlin from Gatwick, around £10 to Berlin and £13 the return so thats £25 plus I suppose some hidden extras????????????
This is for flights in May 2006. I never really want to book holidays that much in advance owing to health problems. ( I did last year, the first time ever, and finished up in hospital 3 weeks later with an heart attack)
Does anyone have experience of booking with easy jet ? Do the fares increase if I leave booking until late April.?
I suppose if I lost £50 that much would be on an insurance excess anyway after last years episode.

Yes it would Martyn but I have family in Kent who look after our poodle whilst we are away so I have to travel to the S.E. corner anyway.

DW,

My eperience with easyjet (and all the low cost carriers to be honest) is that fares are cheap for acouple of months ahead, they then go up about 2 weeks ahead, then you can take a chance, just before the day - it can be dirt cheap or mighty expensive depending on how much demand they have had for the filght!

Either way, you will have to pay taxes, fuel surcharge and possible up to £10 credit card fee - for example I am goign to London for the Ally Pally show, the fare was €5 return, but I paid close to €50 by the time it was actually done and dusted - these taxes and charges seem high when you get really cheap fares, but they don't change as the fare goes up.

Yes, they probably peak there, as last minute business travellers (to whom price is less of an issue) start booking. Wait until 1 day before, and, as mentioned it can be really cheap, or really expensive. You can search out the price graph they use online, its all about filling every seat on the plane.

At that price, I'd book now.

also check out germanwings

these are even cheaper than easyjet, and the planes go on time

I use both Easyjet and Germanwings on a weekly basis and the longer you wait the higher the price is. there are no hidden charges except easyjet charges for use of credit card (4 pounds or something about that)
