For a photographic studio prop, I need to make a series of large wooden boxes that can easily and quickly be taken apart. Each will need to be strong enough to support someone sitting on them. My question is, assuming the sheet sides, tops etc will slot in at some stage, what would be the best way to build the supporting box frames that can be disassembled into flat storage?

butt jointed with screws is what I'd go for, it doesn't have to be solid wood, solid wood will move too much, I'd go with plywood or MDF, should be very easy to make.

How about something like this?

The top looks as if it will just lift off, but you should be able to stand on it.
