Sold Early Christmas prezzies - planes for sale

Hi,
I'm selling the following:

1 x Record No8 SS plane
1 x Stanley No 7 plane
1 x Stanley No 4 plane

All for the grand sum of £200 (plus the postage - or you can collect from the Sandy, Beds area) - I want to sell them as a job lot.

I made an error with the No4 - it is actually a Record No4 with a crucible steel tungsten blade.
I would be happy to swap for the large veritas router plane - if that tempts anyone....

Can you remind us what the SS is. I know it stands for Stay Set, but what exactly is that?

A two part cap - you can remove the lower part for honing without altering the set.
