DW745 bench saw suddenly stopped working during cutting

When reinstalling, I noticed uneven wear on one of the brush faces; maybe one wasn't seated properly? They are fiddly to get in correctly aligned due to the pressure spring

Armature looks to be lacquered all over so should be fine. The missing metal at the fan end has likely been removed to obtain balance.
