I've used it for years, on Mac and PC.
Regularly updated
Describes itself as a "beta" but it's stable, reliable and doesn't mess your PC up.
I paid for the upgrade that allows it to rip blu ray but the DVD functionality is free
Playback of MKV format video files is easy.

Cheers

Okay, got sound and vision now. However, I might have been asking the wrong question.

I have a tutorial disc that came with my Record Power sharpener. What I would like to do is take the relevant chapters and load them on to my tablet so I can have them playing while I attempt to follow the directions and sharpen my tools, so some means of converting them to avi or maybe mpeg2?

I've been advised to use Handbrake for that sort of job in the past. I'd try it first before anything else.

Yes, Handbrake

Yes, definitely handbrake. I now have suond and vision and both playing on my tablet! What I don't have is a valid reason to put off any longer attempting to sharpen my chisels and woodturning tools!

Thanks all.
