Over the weekend I needed to plane a concave curve and while I have a good selection of moulding planes,they weren't particularly accessible.I did have an alternative as I bought a more or less suitable plane when visiting the Netherlands quite a while ago,so long ago that I paid for it in guilders.
I had left the plane in the cupboard under the stairs with a view to doing something with it at a vague and undetermined point in the future.I dug it out and gave it a light sharpening and a good wipe with linseed oil and since it differs a little from the well known British pattern I am adding a couple of photographs to show what it looks like.
