Dustbuster or clone recommendations or disrecommendations

Title says it all really. Apparently we need a cordless vacuum cleaner, according to SWMBO. Anybody got any recommendations or ones to avoid like the plague...? Just for small areas when she can't be bothered to dig out the Dyson.
