Sorry for yet another thread but hopefully this will be fairly short.
Can someone please explain the difference (if there is one) between a cyclone extractor and a Thein separator - or any other type of extractor apart from a shop vac?
It would be good to understand from a general point of view but I do have s a specific reason. I have a Record extractor (vacuum) which is hard plumbed in and works well for a router table, RAS, disc sander and lathe, all situated along one wall. However I have a small table saw and P/T in the centre of my workshop and the additional distance from the piped extraction causes problems. My workshop is too small for a discrete chip extractor so I'm hoping a small cyclone / Thein connected to a small vacuum will work well as I can position this right next to both machines. I have to admit I'm tempted by the Rutlands cyclone but would welcome some expert advice.
Thanks in advance.
