I want to get a good quality comprehensive set of wood drill bits , can anyone recommend a good set aor brand ? Cheers

If you look on Ebay there's a guy selling bankrupt stock 6 set of Bosch german made forstners. Got mine for £15.

Tilgear have a reasonable looking set of augers (Marples?) at a reasonable price in their sale.

For woodworking you need to look for two kinds of bit:-

1) Lip and spur
2) Forstner

They both create clean, straight sided entry holes (for exit holes, all workpieces need to be backed up with something sacrificial ).

There are some very expensive versions of each bit also some very cheap versions. Try the cheap and if it doesn't work for you, spring for the expensive.
