Making a sliding sash window for a customer, double glazed on springs not a proper one, have not made any for about 3years!

I used to use the plastic parting bead with flippers on from Mighton for between the sashes, just wondered what other people are using and why? Do most people prefer the pile type in a carrier, do you use it in staff bead also?

I know it's good to put all the seals in but I find quite often they get painted up and just cause problems.

Thank you, Doug

Hi Doug

I made some double glazed sash windows a few years back with the Mighton plastic seals all around. Would try the brushes next time as the seals grip on the paint and make the windows hard to open. No problems with the draught proofing though with a good seal on all faces.

Had the brushes installed on a bunch of old windows. Worked a treat until the decorator got paint all over them, they were ok after but never as swish swish as originally.
