Hiya,
Been lurking and reading for a wee while, would like to get into turning, and got my eye on these small lathe's,look quite simular to the axminster one's,
Draper-Wood-Lathe-250w-motor-300mm-capacity
so was just wondering if any one has experiance with these, seem's a good price, they normally go for about £150 new,
mainly to do a few bowl's and have a go at some pen's,was going to buy second hand but not a lot for sale up in the n/east,managed to find a couple of club's to look into after the new year,
only need a small lathe as restricted by space, can get plenty small pieces of wood local, fresh as plenty woods around here at beamish, and on the farm's i do pest control on.
well of for a coffee, then more looking at some of the cracking pieces of work on display on the rest of the forum,

Ian
ps,did have an ebay link but cant post it yet,too much lurking and not enough posting.Ian

I have the Clarke CWL325V mini lathe, which I think is similar to the Draper version. I have thus lathe to be quite adequate for my purposes. I turn model ships mast, it is ideal for this. I have turned larger pieces of wood without any problems. There are few comments on the forum pulling these lifts to bits, but this lathe is okay.
