I am considering getting the Draper Expert Combination Router with the free fixed base.Have any members any experience of using this machine,I will be mounting it in my router table to replace a Bosch plunge router (spring removed ) with a grip switch that currently has a clamp on it holding the handle in and a car jack acting as a lift so all rather unsatisfactory.I am hoping that this machine is worth purchasing with the current Yandles offer at £130.

Thanks

Matthew

I bought one about three years ago to use as a dedicated router for my Dovetail jig, double handle makes it easy to use especially with the see through base and the work LED lights on the underside, I was impressed enough that I bought another to use with the straight cutting on the same jig, saves changing cutters and loosing the settings, oh and a nice soft start.

I use a Hitachi MV2 in my Router table so can't comment on the suitability of the Draper for that use, have a look on Rutlands web site they have a Router lift for about £150.00 to suit a fixed base router.

Yes that is the lift I mentioned earlier, the good thing about a purpose built lift is having all the operations above the table, instead of grouping around underneath it to find the plunge lock, the Draper has a flick switch that remains on so it can be controlled from a remove NVR.
