Can you help me please i purchased the planer thicknesser in the photo below hoping it was a simple fix . Anyway i was told it as a switch problem so i took a gamble and bought it as it stands, in the photo i noticed one brown wire was out of one terminal. my question which one h as it come from. Would it be possible for some one that owns a Draper like the one in the photo to take a photo of the switch insides so i can have a look ?? And if i need a new switch could you point me in the right direction to purchase one cheep just in case it could be something else wrong thanks; in anticipation Alan Mock

Mock, don’t have the same unit so can’t help directly. However the photos are blurry so can’t make out at all what is going on in them, so help is limited.

Thought at first that switch/box looked like an after market bodge but from photos on the web I’m wrong, it was that ugly to start with! It’s the same as the Record PT260, but the older model. Only manual I can find is linked below.

It looks like the box is to take in feeds from three micro switches, and depending on if you select Planing or Thicknessing it determines with microswitches should be in the loop.

Suggest you pull the multi meter out and start working out where the wires go too, and if each of the micro switches are closing correctly.
