i have just done the same- for a fiver it is worth a look and I too have a vacuum pump. It is big enough for vacuum bagging, not sure whether it will operate this though. However it is the price of a couple of pints, so...
 
Thanks. My pump is a bit small, but the lidl vacuum should be ok. useful set of instructions there.
 
For the downdraft kit just make a box with a top full of holes and lay over a router mat to grip the workpiece.

Yet another expensive item from Axi that can be easily made at home.

Better still switch over to Mirka sanding discs on your ROS for almost total dust free sanding.

There is an ebay seller who does selection boxes of disc grades to keep initial costs down.

I have those. This is more for hand sanding intricate details, where you have to sand by hand and cannot use the vacuum connected backer pad
 
Trend used to sell a thing called a "MiniMach", which was a ready built version of this. If anyone wants to see how well they (IMHO, don't :( ) work, mine's available for a nominal sum plus carriage.
