I'm seriously interested in one of these, but I've been informed that most of them have no CE mark so I might not get a HETAS certified installer to sign it off. However, they can apparently supply enough technical information to satisfy a building inspector - has anyone been down this route? I'm going to try to have chat with a building inspector before buying one.
Any help would be welcome. :)

I've got one ("Firebug") and it is brilliant. Been in constant use for about 10 years with zero maintenance. Previous stoves needed new baffles, firebricks almost every year. Steel is vastly superior to cast iron.
Sorry can't help with HETAS though!

Don't like their fitting instructions !

http://www.dowlingstoves.com/fitting.asp

A and B are definite no-nos; A - must be able to sweep with stove in place, B - horizontal flue section and scope for blockage at the bottom of the chimney. C is only OK if the chimney is already lined, and then questionable - the flue must be impervious to condensate, and should direct any condensate back into the stove. D is the only good way.

But they are in Scotland I see, so have different regs.
