I once ringed a 4' bole of radiata and I decided to cut 2/3s the way through from one side, then roll it for the rest - before I rolled it I sharpened three chains fifteen times between them. When I rolled it, I didn't sharpen a chain once to finish it. The first side was the side that faced the sea........
I'd rather hit fence wire than sand!
