I had assumed you would cut when moving the saw from bottom to top but it looks like you plan to cut whilst moving the saw from top to bottom. What is your thinking behind that?

I think that is how the in-store ones work. It means all the adjustments on the saw are made around head/chest height.

Moved on with the saw and it's pretty much complete except for adhesive measuring tapes.

Test Cut! needs slight adjustment but happy for a first cut.

Counter weight 15lb in tube on the right.

Looks like the brackets on the back are hooked over the support, so the can easily be moved to other supports above or below.

Yes that's correct they have metal "L" brackets on the back of them that allows them to be moved to any height. :wink:
