Anyone out there using die grinder with rasp bits.

Looking to get a die grinder and wondered if anyone can pass any advice on.

I'll probably go for a pneumatic but also open to electric. Looking for a decent brand such as Ingersoll Rand (air) or Bosch (electric).

Any gotcha's or tips in using die grinders to remove / shape wood? I have a cheap air tool that needs replacing so looking for a better solution.

All advice appreciated.

I’ve got Katsu elec die grinder I use with Saburr bits.

Didn’t go for an air unit as (1) they use a lot of cfm of air and my compressor / receiver isn’t up to it and (2) the compressor is in the corner of the workshop and makes a racket (see point 1).

Overall very good. Downside is it is not 100% in balance with the larger cutters (30mm dia drum / sleeve bits) but think therefore variable speed would be the solution which is the one thing I would like.

Happy to say more but recognise this is an older thread.

Simon
