Hi All,

Hope you are all coping with the current restrictions and limitations.

I have a quick question with regard to the above drill, it's a DCD796, brushless 18v with a 5AH battery.

I bought it last November new but today was it first proper job which i assumed it would absolutely destroy. Drilling 18mm holes with a brand new auger bit through pine, fully charged battery and gave up 20mm into the first hole, tried another hole and the same thing, didn't even have enough grunt to reverse. Tried charging the battery and tried again, same result.

Am I asking too much of it? or would you suspect it's faulty? It was bought from a UK DeWalt Premier Dealer so not dodgy. I have so much of their stuff I was upset when it couldn't handle a task I expected it to do, my old DeWalt 18V that's 12 years old could easily have done it.

Any advice on what DeWalt service is like?

Cheers,

Jon.

Take it back, it should have a 12 month warranty at least. It should have ploughed that easy.
