Demo days

Hi guys need to come on here a blow off steam went to the saw centres demo day in Glasgow were in dundee it's a wee bit off a trip we to the day off no one payed us to go ha ha well trend were there great demos loads of info very professional. Mafell were ther too was very impressed with there tools but very dear and the reason why we went festool were there with the international demo truck which looked cool

So here's my rant trying to convince my boss to buy festool anyway being telling my boss about there domino machine so we go over to to the guy inside to basically ask him about there tools and for him to sell it to us he is to busy eating and sends us out to the demo truck to use and see the tools and the guy doing the demos should be very good at using the tools but no he was absolutly useless we ended up leaving it was to embarrassing to watch anymore my not one rep gave us a catalogue or any info on machines or prices so my boss wasn't sold on festool I was raging

Oh by the way the saw centre were great will be using them again

It's hit and miss with reps I think, I met a Makita sales manager running a demo day at my local timber merchant, he freely admitted that he was no expert on their larger tool range and had roped one of his customers into being his assistant in exchange for an unlimited supply of tea and bacon butties...

Anyway, with their more refined woodworking tools, he was actually an owner himself... I was looking to buy a small router for inlay work, his demo, and subsequent handing it over to me to try resulted in a good nine or ten people coming to try their hand at routing out their initials in a plank of softwood, I think the manager of the host branch paid for a bacon butty the person who produced the best example (I'm afraid it wasn't me, I need to go through a lot of prep to get good results).

Cheers guys I just felt let down I was bigging up a tool company and was so let down . So I rang festool uk and told them how I felt they couldn't be more sorry so there apology was the will send the festool rep with some tools and can get our own demo day whoo

Dickm Mafell festool trend routers and trend industrial stihl a big dewalt display but no reps we got a good look at the first fix dewalt nailer mirka sanders and I think they had Axminster stuff there

Jelly ye the other reps were great the saw centre staff were great loads of food and drink think its still on tomorrow
