Some time ago I brought a delta thicknesser I dont use it much just for the odd board but today had a lot to do . After using the machine for about 15 minutes it shut down so waited a few minutes and reset the machine afte another 5 minutes it shut down again I was wondering if the blades are dull and this is causing the motor to get a bit warm or do you think its somthing else any help would be gratefully received

too heavy a cut, possibly combined with dull blades maybe?

what was the finish like on the boards?

I have a Delta and I'm very happy with it ....are the boards you're trying to plane the full width the machine if so it will only cope with a max of 1m/m or less if the timber is hard ,I do find mine switches of if I ask to much of it and the blades need replacing .
I often work it all day when without any problems when I'm making beading although it does get quite warm

hi again well i was using oak about 7 inches wide finish is not to bad i did turn the blades a little while ago they seemed sharp to me but will buy a new set and see how i get on can the blades be sent for resharpening if so where?
