Defender E11090 13-16A RCD unit 240 volt

Hi everyone I'm new; first question
Have any of uses used a Defender E11090 13-16A RCD unit 240 volt. I was thinking of using one so I could use the 240v 16A socket with a mig welder that needs it. Is this unit simply plugged into sockets using its 13A plug or does it need a seperate mcb ?

It comes with a 13 amp plug and so cannot deliver 16 amps at the output.
Wiring it directly to a 16amp MCB is likely to contravene wiring regs.
Just install a 16 amp socket properly as a spur.
